CCUVS offers a range of services to a variety of clients including all levels of government, commerce and industry.
Consultancy. CCUVS has extensive knowledge and expertise of unmanned systems coupled with experience of many different types of enterprise, including local and national government, academia, for-profit corporations and not-for-profit organisations. These assets enable CCUVS to understand client needs and aspirations and to assess the utility of unmanned systems in client’s operational and organisational contexts.
Facilities. Gaining access to test ranges can be problematic for industry, especially the smaller companies. CCUVS has Provision of Service agreements with test ranges under which companies can gain access and conduct tests and other activities. Test ranges are much in demand and those wishing access should contact CCUVS to make arrangements as far in advance as possible. CCUVS has also made arrangements for unmanned flight operations in rural areas. For many UA activities these arrangements are entirely adequate and usually have fewer administartive requirements than use of government ranges.
Unmanned Aircraft Launcher. UA launchers can be highly specialised and expensive items of equipment. In addition, most currently operated launchers are either owned by the military or by larger companies who need them for their own purposes. Therefore the availability of UA launchers poses a challenge to many smaller UAS developers. CCUVS has a state-of-the-art, fully civilianized UA launcher, which is available for hire at attractive rates throughout Canada. It can also be deployed on ships. Click here for more information.
Special Flight Operation Certificates (SFOCs). While Transport Canada has made many improvements to the process for obtaining SFOCs, organizations new to the requirements can find them challenging. CCUVS participated in the last Transport Canada Working Group addressing SFOCs and offers assistance to organizations in obtaining SFOCs.
